Tai Ahom people

The Tai Ahom are descendants of a royal and ethnic community that founded a kingdom in the Brahmaputra Valley in 1228 CE under King Sukapha. They ruled Assam for approximately 600 years, uniting various tribes and creating "Bor Axom" (Greater Assam). Today, their language is considered endangered.
